Summer has arrived! Well, it almost arrived. The temperatures are yet to skyrocket and we’re not dying of heatstroke just yet, but in a few weeks, the sun is going to burn down on us and we better be ready for that. And since our homes are our safe havens, we need to make sure that our homes are as summer-ready as we are, right? So, here’s an article on how to get your home ready for the scorching summers.
#1 Deep Clean
Winters or any season for that matter does not really motivate us to do any form of cleaning. However, since summers could get humid and sweaty, keeping your home clean is the best way to avoid all kinds of microorganism growth. Before the summer is in full swing, do a deep clean. Hire a professional if necessary. Get rid of every bit of mush, mold, and debris that has accumulated over the winter/holiday season.
#2 Give Your Appliances A Maintenance Check
You know you’re going to need your air conditioner and that refrigerator. And most other appliances to be in good working condition. If you purchased appliances from Guarented, you can give us a call and request a maintenance check. If you are still under warranty, we’ll do it for you at no additional cost.
#3 A Style Revamp Is A Good Idea
We do understand that summers have people spending a lot of time outdoors, but for those who stay indoors a lot, a home makeover might be a good idea. Seeing the same furniture and the same decor for more than a few years might wear you down. So if you’ve been wanting a home makeover for quite some time now, summers would be the ideal time to do it. Don’t forget to check out Guarented’s collection of amazing home furniture. We also do custom designs, so if you want a custom sofa or bed or any furniture, wardrobes /wall shelves, you name it, we can do it for you!
#4 Sun Protection
Too much of anything is bad. Even the life-sustaining power of sunlight. If you have plants, furnishings, furniture that faces direct sunlight, you may want to move them to a shady spot, at least for a few hours each day. Fabrics easily fade with time, and that fading is accelerated when there’s sunlight falling on them. You may want to consider investing in some heavier fabrics or shade providers for the summer. And while you are at it, make sure that you slather sunscreen on yourself when you step out.
#5 Pest Control!
Summer does have it’s share of pest infestation and needless to say, they bring with them all kinds of diseases. The world is already reeling from the devastation left by the novel Coronavirus, we don’t need to breed more pathogens. I’ve been seen too many roaches or bugs on your garden plants, or worse rodents around, bring in pest control and get the situation under control.
Enjoy Your Summer!
A lot of fun events are coming up in the summer of 2020, including the Olympics. So if you want to have a lot of fun, make sure that your home and your own body is in a healthy, happy state. Do you have more summer homecare tips? If yes, do share them with us in the comments below!
